the zion canyon was formed by the erosive forces of the virgin river.  the bright orange rock of the canyon walls contrasts beautifully with the lush green foliage along the virgin river.  we loved it.  we took many little hikes, and one big hike from the bottom of the canyon to observation point and back down for ice cream.
